A guide to working effectively with Conor

Hi! The key to great relationships is navigating the interpersonal dynamics, and understanding each others strengths and weaknesses. That is why I have created this “Guide to Working effectively with Conor.” :)

StrengthsFinder

StrengthsFinder is an amazing test to help you understand where you are strongest. Here are my key strengths and traits.

What these strengths mean to me…

I spend a lot of time in my own head, learning, thinking and reflecting. Learning is like breathing for me, I do it effortlessly and I need it to survive. Second to that is thinking and reflection on what I learn, be it from books, podcasts etc., or from people. I tend to collect and hang onto the things that mean something to me - be it pieces of wisdom, objects, ideas and people. I'm also the first person to hear a problem and immediately go into problem-solving mode. Every problem has the seed of its solution in it. Lastly, I deliberately deepen my relationships, both personal and professional.

Conor’s Unique Ability

Unique Ability is a powerful process that goes beyond StrengthsFinder. I found it hugely helpful in defining how I can best define what I offer to my coaching clients. My Unique Ability Statement is that I listen deeply, learn constantly and connect meaningfully so that I can indulge my curiosity, share my talents and create value for others.

My 10 best Unique Ability habits are:

Voracious Learner: I constantly seek to “upgrade” my thinking, learn new topics and understand more about the world. It satisfies my endless curiosity and helps me “join the dots” on projects, ideas etc, as well as share new insights with others.

Deep Thinker: I think my way through the world, and seek answers by looking for more information. I love getting in a thinking “flow state”.

True Giver: I freely give time, resources, headspace to others. I'm eager to help and thoughtful because I want to help others succeed in getting to where they need to go, and I feel good using what I know.

Attentive Listener: I'm all ears for others. I pay attention, listen with curiosity, and remember details. I help where I can and empathise.

Collector: I collect it all - thoughts, notes, files, media, ideas, relationships. I store and categorise and worry about it all :)

Constant Innovator: I love ideation, connecting ideas and problem-solving, especially with others. It moves things forwards for everyone and it’s fun!

Planner: I research and plan first. I organise and manage and enjoy creating and seeing the “web” of a project or business.

Zero-Judger: I don’t often judge people and prefer to leave a conversation as open as possible. I love the feeling of freedom for having real-talk that is created there.

Picky Relator: I have a few close relationships, and am careful about creating new ones. I am committed to the relationships that fill me with energy, that are honest, supportive and respectful. I love working hard on an idea or a problem with a friend.

People-Curious: I love chatting to people, getting to know them and what they do, what drives them and what gives them energy. It’s always interesting to meet a “blank canvas” and hear them fill it in.

Crystal Knows

This is another great site that gives more tactical feedback on who I am, and might help us have even more productive conversations. According to Crystal, I “tend to be a careful planner and natural listener: patient, logical, and supportive.” View My Crystal Knows Profile.

Enneagram

I'm an Enneagram Type 5, which means I tend to be curious, independent, and observant. I love to pursue knowledge and seek a deeper understanding of the world.

Other tips for working with Conor:

Efficient Meetings - I want every meeting we have to be as valuable to you as possible. Sometimes that means being quiet and letting some silence work it’s magic. Other times, I might prompt you to get succinct.

I like investing in people and relationships - Whenever I see potential to help someone level up where they are at, or the value they are bringing to the world, I get excited. But someone has to show the genuine drive and excitement to level up, and be in line with a path where I can help them for it to really work.
