My mission is to have a curiosity-driven and diverse life, filled with lots of learning, by doing meaningful work and creating meaningful relationships. I do this as an entrepreneur, freelancer, and coach. I'm more than a little bit obsessed with software, entrepreneurship, and education.

Me in 90 Seconds

Host of the First 10 Podcast, where I interview business builders on their First 10 Customers - who they were, how they found them, how to talk to them, and what effect they had on their business, so that you can learn what worked, and what didn’t. I help freelancers, bootstrappers and founders start and grow their businesses. 

I’ve been a software engineer, english teacher, festival founder, bicycle mechanic, entrepreneur, workshop leader, consultant, advisor, mentor, speaker and blogger. I have a bunch of my projects here.

I coach Seth Godin’s Akimbo and altMBA Workshops, helping people tell their stories, bootstrap their business, learn Real Skills, freelance, write effective copy and engage fully with their marketing. I am proud to help business builders get the essentials just right.

I also coach 1-1 and do group-coaching with awesome humans looking to change their corner of the world.

A little more?

I have a history of re-invention. I went from being a computer science graduate (with a Masters in Music Education) to becoming a lead software engineer to starting one of the largest free family festivals in Ireland, the Street Performance World Championship (now called City Spectacular), in 2006. That festival went on to win national awards and attract an audience of over 250,000 people yearly. It broke world records year after year and remains one of the most loved events in the Irish festival calendar. Now I split my time between coaching on Seth Godin’s renowned altMBA and Akimbo Workshops, coaching awesome humans 1-1, and pursuing exciting projects.

Through this multi-disciplinary background, I help people move forward on the work that matters to them. I love to make life easier for those I work with by figuring out how to do things better. After all, better > more.

What really fires me up? Learning by doing, helping others make progress, and problem-solving. I’m a supporter of others, honest and direct, and extremely empathetic.

When I’m not coaching businesses or building businesses, I can be found reading (I read a lot), listening to music, practicing mindfulness, running or nerding out on tech. And reading.
